Senior Wellness in Woodbridge, Virginia

Safety is something we all agree on when it comes to having our loved ones at home. Whether mom is struggling with dementia or dad is recuperating from hip surgery, it’s important to know that our loved ones are safe in their own home. Unfortunately, we can’t always be there to make sure their safety.

OptimumCare Home Care Services ensures the safety of your loved ones when you can’t be there. Our staff can help clients in and out of the bathtub or use the bathroom safely. We’re experienced and trained in the use of the number of adaptive devices that make bathing, toileting, and walking in a home environment safer for your loved ones, reducing the risk of accidents or falls.

Reducing fall risk is one of the main tasks of our caregivers in a home environment. We’ll check to make sure that rugs and furniture don’t increase risk of falls. We’ll ensure that the bathroom (the most common areas for falls) are clean of clutter and offer safety devices such as grab bars, toilet supports, and even bath chairs to help keep your loved one stay safe and sound.

Our staff is trained and experienced in offering support to those diagnosed with dementia or neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson’s that may cause a decline in cognitive ability. Fall prevention is essential, and reducing fall risk in home environments is the first thing we deal with when assessing a care plan for you or a loved one.

Our short-term and long-term or live-in care services will ensure that you or a loved one gets to the bathroom safely in the middle of the night, is able to take care of hygiene and personal grooming safely, and has the tools or accessories necessary to provide optimal mobility, independence, and support.

During our initial assessment and evaluation processes, we determine the level of personal safety or hazards that may threaten patient safety, as well as indoor air quality, sanitary conditions in bathrooms and kitchens, and more.
